Slave Income

This is a positive modifier to the basic wealth value, applied alongside the tax modifier. I didn’t go into this too much, but basically there is a faction-wide pool of slaves, gained especially from enslaving captured soldiers from vanquished armies. This pool is spread round the provinces in a way I don’t understand to provide an income bonus. The exact bonus may vary from province to province depending on any slavery buildings that provide a modifier to this bonus. Further details on the slaves in a province can be obtained by hovering the pointer over the slave income entry in the Province Details window.

The pool of slaves gradually wanes over time. The rate of decline may be reduced in certain provinces by buildings or by an Edict.

One presumes that the more slaves, the more likely there is to be a slave rebellion. However, I tried to get rid of my slaves by never having anything to do with slavery and never taking slaves from enemy settlements or defeated armies, and I still came up against some slave rebellions. Possibly they arose from an adjoining faction that dealt in slavery and then they spread to my territories.
